2. Our quality from Pictures to Advertising is by far better than any other Newspaper in this area. Check out our photos, plus our ad designs; they take 1st place by far. You won't find out-of-registration photos or ads in our Newspaper.

3. You will find pictures of local children and students; not some kid playing in some other state, or reading news you have seen on tv or in the Des Moines Register two days ago.

4. We don't have to discount our paper by 77% or give it away because no one wants to buy ours. We turn away no stories or photos. We want your stories and your photos. If we don't have room, we will make room; you're the customer and you are the one most important thing to us.

5. The money we make here stays here; none of it goes to another State for corporate officers that could care less about Marshalltown, let alone you or me.

6. Check out our sports photos on this website; they are FREE. We don't try and sell you photos of your kids;  you can download them for FREE.

7. The most important thing about us is WE DON'T CHARGE FOR OBITUARIES! I don't believe in trying to make money off of a family whose loved one has passed on. You have a photo that you want to run with the obit? Bring it in; it is free also.

8. Sure, we want to make a living but we care about Marshalltown - the County and the Community. Some things don't always have to be about money.

9. Why are our advertising rates so much lower? Less overhead, no corporate person calling us saying we need to make more.....and if we have to make changes, firing people is not the first resort but our last, and to this day we have not done that in the 4 years we been in business.

10. We are here for you as long as you support us; we will support you. If we felt the Community didn't want us here, wasn't tired of all the other competitors and wanted a choice, we would have packed up and left a long time ago. We are here to stay and be YOUR NEWSPAPER.
